I am taking my dad out for a fathers day hybrid fishing trip on Belton Saturday morning, and was hoping to get a few pointers on here. Any ideas on what depth, general location, good bait/lure choices might be? Not looking for anyone's secret stuff, just a push in the right direction so that we can hopefully have a memorable trip.

Figured we will put in a Temple Lake Park and try the flats, and maybe work around humps and points until we find em. Normally we are catfishermen, but chasing after the hyrbids and whites is another passion we have.

Any help would be appreciated, and I accept PMs too grin

Hello Mike--

Here is a map of Lake Belton with the better spots marked.

www.wingsoverusa.com/belton.bmp

The hybrids will be deep around the thermocline which is around 27 feet in the main lake.

Good luck-- Belton is a really good hybrid lake by the way.

A bad day fishin' is still better than work!

Best action has been 47 to 52 foot deep, you may want to look along the bluffs from the island to girl scout point.

good luck
