Has the boat ever been titled?

It's going to take a very long time and a ton of work on your part. Your going to have to run title checks on the boat, the motor and the trailer! If any of them come up being titled before anywhere then your in for an even great ordeal.

It's almost impossible. If u know who the boat an motor are titled under then they can submit lost title papers an get new titles fairly easily. If not then I would find a diff boat.

if the seller cant deliver good title for the boat and motor and registration for the trailer in their name at the time of the money change run from the deal it will save you a lot of heartaches later .

TTU,
Listen to the advice of SSMITH!!! Even if the boat has a current registration, don't buy it unless you can get those titles in the seller's name when the transaction takes place!
I hope you are the type of person that listens and learns, rather than learns the hard way. If you buy a boat without a title, you'll truly "learn the hard way"!
Best of luck,
-Alton

I asked this question to the lady at the counter of TXPWD while getting new registration for my boat. Her reply" DON"T EVER BUY A BOAT WITHOUT A TITLE" If the deal is good enough, offer to pay the seller extra for obtaining the title before you buy the boat. If he can't get it, neither can you!

This should be amended to read as "DON'T EVER BUY A BOAT WITHOUT A TITLE IN THE SELLERS NAME!" As Alton said, I hope you learn from others mistakes and save yourself a whole lot of head-ache.
