Canned beer, epecially around Possum Kingdom Dang the drunk peeps around PK are slobs.  There was a Miller trash pic that was better, but I'm partial to the Highlife, it being champagne and all, really.
Unless you are wearing a grass skirt and sleeping in a ditch and eating only road kill, you too are part of 'the problem'.

I don't know how often I am picking up random trash from the middle of the lakes I fish, gotten so bad I carry a trash bag just to make it easier to clean up other people mess

I am starting to hunt trash with a crossbow fishing setup. Works well and fun. I dont use it on fish just real trash. I will be ready for the first bow trash turny.
Nature is nature and it deserves some respect for when its gone so are we.

Maybe instead of outlawing cans on the river, we should just enforce the litter laws in place. Making more laws won't help if the current problem is already violating an existing law.
We could drink our beer and water out of plastic bottles, but then we would need to outlaw those once they become a pollution problem. Eventually, you will have to drink river water out of a camelback.

Forget the laws, how about we just use the trash cans once in a while.
You can have a trash can sitting right within a few feet of where people fish, and the trash still ends up right where it fell to the ground and they could care less to pick it up and place it in the can.
It's sad, but we can complain all we want, but there are no present laws or future laws that are going to change a slobs behavior.
We will always have to pick up after the idiots or end up wading through it just to get to the shore.

The real answer is some fool proof 5 or 10 or 25 or 40 cent DEPOSIT on each can, then we will marvel outloud about how those cans seem to pick themselves up.
What happened to deposits ?

The Brazos campsites between 16 and Rochelles are trashed out bad. Beer cans, food packaging, discarded camping gear, fishing gear and packaging, bait containers.. Can't figure out how someone on one hand can go to spend time in a beautiful setting and on the other hand trash it out at the same time.

We will always have to pick up after the idiots or end up wading through it just to get to the shore. I am amazed at the number of low life who fish. In generations past it was a gentleman's sport. Now we have drunks and drug users. Of course, a lot of the people who trash the outdoors do not fish. But a lot of the fishermen on TFF have gotten on here and defended their "right" to smoke pot and drink Bud while in the outdoors. They leave their bottles,cans and butts for others to pick up - or they sink them in the lake.
