Moving to Minneapolis area next month. Any info on fishing forums from folks that are from that area would be great.

IDO, Hot spot outdoors and lake state fishing. Those are the three most popular. Make sure you fish Mille Lacs for small mouth, it's the best smallmouth lake in the state and only a hour and a half north of minneapolis, there's a bunch of realy good metro lakes for largemouth, not Texas sized bass , but good numbers with fish up to 6 lbs.

Let me know what you want to fish for and how far you are willing to drive. I fish up there every year, and have family that spends the summers up there. I personally like to fish for smallmouth, northerns, and muskie. The crappie, walleye, and lake trout fishing can be good as well... But I'm not going 1,000 miles to catch walleye and crappie, lol. Just me.

Welcome to Minnesota!
You have many metro area lakes, but most of them are full of party people on the weekends. The St. Croix river and Mississippi river are on the edge and in the middle of the metro area. Go north 1 1/2 hours and you have thousands of lakes to choose from. The St. Croix river and Mississippi river are on the edge and in the middle of the metro area. Smallies and large mouth abound.Docks are good, weedlines can be excellent. Don't need to bring too many "pool cue" sticks with you unless you want to go after muskies! Waters are generally clear with lots of bass! Worst part about MN fishing is the bass season doesn't open until Memorial Day...but you can fish the Missisppi earlier than that. Rick
Whenever I hear the word "exercise", I wash my mouth out with chocolate.
