I used to fish from the bank alot before I got the boat and still do from time to time, I started to use shad vs DK and my catch ratio has gone down tremendously and most of what I get is turtles. I will say the quality (if) I get a cat is better. Is this normal I guess is my question? I have put them on whole, cut, live, dead etc. Thanks for any info.

It really depends on where the fish are. Have you tryed night fishing when the fish go shallower while using shad? If you havnt try that and you might catch some more

When fishing from the bank my bait is in 4 to 8 ft of water, There are fish there because I talked to another guy down there only 50 yrds away and he ended with 20 to my 1 that night, but he was using Don's stink bait, never heard of that but apparently it works.

Hmm thats different no clue whats up then. Next time out go with a rod with shad and a rod with stinkbait if you can. Also where he was fishing may have had some underwater timber or somthing that attracted the fish over there more than where you were at.

If your wanting channelcat stick with a punchbait for numbers. If your going for blues use shad.

Yup same thing I do, when wanting numbers of channels I use Big Marvs punch bait, when wanting blues, I use cutbait.

Thanks for the info guys, I know when the inlaws go down with me to the bank they would rather catch numbers vs size, the MIL gets bored just sitting there.

Has anyone heard of this "Don's stink bait" I guess it is not local.
