after you hit the obvious spots, the drainage pipe, rock pile, weed line, and you catch 2-3 fish and then what do you do? cuz i just went to a pond and had no idea what to do after 30 minutes

Fan cast the area, you never know what is under the surface that you cannot see

I'd say just keep fishing it! there may already be fish to replace the ones you just caught in the same locations, maybe they're bigger this time

Grew up on pond fishing, 28 years old until early 50's, and loved every minute of it. Was good then and was catching my share of fish. Came to Lake Fork area and found out what REAL fishing is all about. Use some of the baits and rigs that I was taught to use on those same ponds and could expect a bite almost every time. Try something that they have not seen before and hang on(Drop Shot)it worked for me and other rigs used paid off too.

if there is any grass at all i would throw a black or whit 1/4 once buzzbait by lunker lure. by atleast 2 as they may break 1 in an hour or so. the buzzbait drives pond fish crazy and u can see the fish coming to get it sometimes witch will tip u off where they are coming from.
I dont fish for a living but i LIVE TO FISH!

I also like the old beetlespin in green. Seems to work well in small water for me.

I have had luck throwing out as far as I could on a point and walk around to another point. This gets the bait in a deeper strike zone for a longer time than just throwing straight out.

Depends on the pond.
If it is a man made pond, like the one i fish, fish seem to hang out closer to the bank, where there is more vegetation. i think sometimes, in newer ponds, when they dredge it, they don't add structure or vegetation to the deeper parts, just what grows in naturally from the banks.
I fish at a little pond in colleyville, and it seems like i never catch fish more than 15 feet out. i find chartreuse spinners work great, as well as lipless crank baits. For me, bright colors work better in the small ponds.

Yes, ponds should sometimes be approached a little different than most lakes, but a bass is a bass. I fish both ponds and lakes very regularly. I read on here all the time when people ask for pond advice. The most common response is to throw a small crankbait, a small spinnerbait, or a small worm. Those methods can be effective, but so can others. I would try a Carolina rigged 8 inch worm. Cast a jig out deep and work it back. You might be surprised what type of structure is hiding in your pond. Don't limit yourself to what you can see. Best of luck to you!

Throw a Mepp's spinner. Works in any pond I have ever fished. After 30-45 minutes at a pond if I haven't caught anything, I'd go home or to another pond.

Depends on a few different factors. My experience is that most fish are caught within 15 ft of the bank. I agree on the beettle Spin and Mepps. Also, lately as it has gotten hotter, I have caught a few on big worms and jigs.
The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.

as it has gotten hotter i have fished the shade in ponds, creeks and rivers and it hasn't failed me yet. what has surprised me is that even with no structure when i cast to shade i've caught fish.
