Going to take my first night fishing trip out there and would appreciate any advice. Don't need details just a few tips. Thanks

I haven't been this year, but gonna start soon. I'd go with all the usual suspects -
a black spinnerbait w/ colorado blades and reel it really slow! an 11" Gene Larew blue fleck worm (or 10" power worm) a black chatterbait
As far as locations, you are on yer own. I haven't been to explore yet, but it shouldn't be that hard to find a couple of spots.
Good luck,
-Alton

I always had good luck at night using a black/Silver senko. I would find a hump off main lake points.

Just got back. Fished sat night. I threw a mans 12 inch jelly worm in blackberry. Caught 3 over 5. I second the main lake points.

Did well in April w/8" Hags blue fleck..T-Rig.. use a 3/8 oz tungsten and 20# fluorocarbon..I would fish main and secondary points..then start with a spinnerbait/buzzbait..catch a couple.. then work the area with a plastic ..big dark worms..Blk/blu jig 3/8 oz I like pairing with a Gene Larew salty craw (the big one) or T-rig one of them..Starmart has them in singles as well as Lake Fork Marina..If you get to Fork early go by the Tackle Factory 9037653398 and check out his spinnerbaits..or go by BPS/Starmart get some Hilderbrandts Blk get the gold blade not the nickel in a #5..you might want to get a few ..if fishing braid..be careful not to get line caught in the split rings( it happens)and at night not fun to repair ..or put some glue on them..If you want to use a chatter type bait..pair it with a smaller live magic shad LFT/Mark Packs they have them in a blk/blu ..I'll be fishing hopefully most of the week..pm me before ya go..if I have any additional info I will pass it on.
In order to catch Big Fish..Sometimes you gotta Suffer.

Good tips above. I usually throw black and blue no matter if it's a worm or jig, but last night I caught 8 fish from 3.7-8.9 and the bigger ones were off a Watermelon candy jig with green pumkin trailer. Main lake points, big stumps-- just keep flippin! Oh, and be safe!

Glad you asked this. I'm going down Wednesday with the full moon and staying until Saturday. Looking forward to fishing it this time of year. I've always been in march until now. My friends that used to go at night said a black buzz bait is what they caught the most on.

Not to hijack the thread, but I always wonder this - Shad and perch don't change colors at night, so why do we? I know that the dark colors increase the....blah....blah...blah!
I'm as guilty as anyone, even the help I post to others says "Use Black or Black/Blue" and I do it when I'm fishing.
Who uses a shad colored crankbait or white spinnerbait at night with success?

I've caught fish at night using the same baits I throw in the daytime, including shad and bream colors in crankbaits. Bass eyes are better than ours, if it has a shape they can see it, even at night.
Real trucks don't need spark plugs.
