I have been watching fishing shows and I have seen the pros use it. Do u use it with any success? If you do use it what do you use, like what pound braid n what pound line? Also what techniques do you use it for. Which knot do u use to tie them together. Sorry if this question has been asked before. I was just wanting some information. Thanks n I appreciate the help.

Yes it works! I use a uni knot to connect the two. As for size of line it just depends on the technique and where you are fishing at. Leader length is something else that you will have to experiment with and adjust to what you like.
Use it anywhere you want to. Topwater frogs over grass. t-rig C-rig crankbaits

It's the only way I drop-shot. Braid is the only way I care to go on a spinning set up. Fluorocarbon leader attached to swivel. Palomar knots all around.

It works great, I use the uni knot and best part is you dont have to replace the mainline near as often as if it were straight flouro. Like Big10inch said it can be used in alot of applications and its effective. I personally like it on my shakey head rod with 20lb power pro with a 15lb flouro leader

So what is the advantage of using a fluro leader as apposed to just braid? I don't understand so help me out.

i do this all the time especially when fishing in clear water lakes. I connect my flourocarbon line to braid via the albright knot. Works wonders.

Scotts: This is only my view as everyone who DS has their own method that works for them.
The flouro allows light to pass through it thus not causing a shadow which is imperative for clear water fishing. I employ one rod length of flouro getting my hook as far away from the braid as possible. Stealth is maintained for the illusion and technique.
Thinking in terms of what a fish sees when it comes up to the bait: They see a suspended bait when they suck it in literally they can have the line touching their nose and in some cases will have the tag end and the rod end of line over each lip if hooked in the roof of the mouth.
I term braid/flouro DS "finesse fishing with power". It's of no value to get bit if you can't get the fish to the boat.

I use a surgeons knot to tie braid to flouro.
I use it on a spinning rod mostly tying 12-15 pound braid to 8-10 pound fluorocarbon line. It casts better and has less problems with line twist compared to straight fluorocarbon.
I use a leader that is between 5 and 8 feet.

I use the 65 pound braid with 20 pound mono or floro depending on the type fishing at the time... i use uni to uni . Why? I fish out of a yak and can not break the 65 braid... I do not want to cut the line and loose about 20 feet of braid when fishing deep water. I know I only have 20 or less strength in the line, but I have a real good braid in the trees that is rubbing up and down most of the time. There is a weakness but I like my choice... And IF I need to change I can remove the leader and retie with braid only... Only at Falcon will I use braid only and be willing to loose the 20 plus feet of braid in deep water... I fish falcon about four times a year. The rest of the time I am using the same equipment on lesser known lakes and less trees on rocks.
Good Luck

for c-rig I use 30# braid with a 12-14# leader. For spinning reel (drop shoting/shaky head), I use 20# and 8-10# leader (I could use a lighter braid here, but like the larger diameter). For flippin rod 50-65# braid with 20# leader. For football jigs and swimbaits, 30# braid with 14# leader. Uni to uni to connect
Also use it on my crappie rod-10# braid with 6# leader.
Cover dictates some leader differences in the baitcasting rig senarios.
