I plan to try this out on the boat. I have a 17" Video Monitor I am going to mount on my console to see how it works. What do you think?

This Monitor isn't waterproof it is a very cheap monitor I wanted to try out before I get something permanent. I plan to connect and use this one at idle speed around 3 to 4 mph while searching.

I have found a 17" aquatic water proof LCD monitor for $495 I am looking at for a permanent solution.

Pretty sweet. I was thinking of doing that too. I'd really need a T-top though with an electronics rack up top to pull it off. I've toyed with the idea of taking one out just to see what it would be like.

I purchased my 898 in Dec. 2010 in addition to having a ethernet port it also has a video out port. I simply order the HB video cable online which has 2 RCA connections on the end. The LCD Monitor has a RCA in connection when the monitor is connected under setting on the 898 turn on the video out feature.
