Heard his motor blew? Is that true? If so that probaly cost him some pts in the AOY race. Was hoping he would win it.

If you're referring to yesterday, he was only down for an hour. His Marshall had his Skeeter at the ramp and allowed Jones to use it. He still weighed in four fish. As to what was wrong with his boat/motor, I don't know if they ever said.

Probably expensive for you and me. I'm sure yamaha fixed him up for free.

that is why they have Yamaha, Mercury and Evinrude trailers with master techs on hand at all events.

Maybe I can roll up and get a waterpump replaced at an event if they ever come back here...

That was a brand new boat and motor that he got before the elite season this year. Havent heard one good thing about the Yamaha SHO motor from those who have ran it for any length of time.

well i've ran one since last may and was one of the first to get one and I've had zero problems in a year and about 120 hrs and have no bad things to say about it, so I guess I'm the first to say that huh. haha. No big deal, motors break down, outboards, cars, jets, tractors, go carts, they all have problems, get it replaced and go on.

They said the techs had it fixed and were on the water testing it in less than 4 hours.

Guys seriously...Mercury and Yamaha they are both man made products and will fail. Some will fail less then others but at some point all will fail new or old. I just happen to take care of my Optimax very well...DFI oil in every tank since it was new and Quickleen in every gas tank. I need to get a water pump done asap and a tune up. I am at 240 hours and need my second 100 hour tune up. But my Mercury keeps on running strong...
