I am working on fixing up a older boat. It is a 94 Astro, the wood in the transom is rotted and am wanting to fix it. I do not want to take it in to a shop but work on it at home for a project ( I already own a 2011 Z8). I know there is some liquid type thing that you mix and fill the transom after removing the wood, and was wondering what that stuff is called and what yall recommend? Also I am looking for a place to get new windshields for it also, for a fair price. I have one of the original windshields that could be used for a mold or dimensions.

Thanks!

Look into NIDA-Bond too. I haven't used it, or Seacast, but both get good reviews. I rebuilt my transom out of marine plywood. It wasn't too bad. I have a lot of CSM and woven rovin I could make you a deal on.

I used Seacast on a bass boat and will be glad to offer advice. Send me a PM-lots of pitfalls to avoid but if the budget doesn't allow a pro fiberglass job it works....

You can get the windshield from Custom Mold & Tint in Monticello, Arkansas. You have to send the old one in and they copy it. Takes some time.

UPD Plastics has the same kind of service as the one rglass suggested, plus they have a long list of Astro windshield molds already on hand. Don't know about prices- could be sky-high, but worth looking into. I think their website is updplasitcs.com
