Recently I visited Gander Mountain in Sherman about 15 minutes before close on a Friday night. I needed 5 reels spooled (had my own line) and a new pair of Gore-Tex boots.

Needless to say, this trip was going to take more than 15 minutes BUT I needed these items for the NEXT day�s trip.

First, the manager on duty took GREAT care of us. He made sure the young man in fishing didn�t feel rushed in getting my reels done so that they were done right.

Second, the manager retrieved a fellow who was headed out the door and sent him our way to help in my selection of new boots.

Third, when it came time to make the purchase, the registers were down for the evening. What did he do? Well, he took down my card information and kept it locked safe in the cash room so that the transaction could be processed the next morning! He then made a special point to SEND my receipt (and the original slip my personal information was written on) to me in the mail.

He could see I was hesitant about leaving my personal information written down so he explained how he�d safeguard the information AND gave me a %20 discount for my �inconvience�!!!!!1

Many of you know how hard I am to please when it comes to customer service, but these guys take the cake!

This was my SECOND awesome experience with this store and the THIRD with Gander Mountain all together�..the other location was the Corsicana location. The Corsicana location searched all over for a GPS I wanted and made sure it was shipped to the Sherman store so that I wouldn�t have to drive any further than absolutely necessary!

I can�t say it enough, Gander Mountain rocks!!!!

They just heard about you almost running over the biker and did not want any trouble.

Oh another thing...

I use mainly Yo-Zuri line and they (Gander) had their Hybrid Clear on clearance for 4.99! Sherman was out but Corsicana shipped me a bunch of spools to the Sherman store so that I could pay for and pick them up there! They got there in 2 days!

Not to hijack your post here, but I guess a bout a year ago you were going to find out some information for me about the Yo-Zuri X-Tex Cobra line. I never did see a reply to that so I was just wandering what you found out.

Sorry about that! Yeah, I didn't ever get around to testing that line....things kinda went off course in the line testing department! LOL!!

I was depending on samples for some of it and that one never came in. I'll see if I canfind any other info on it!

Only place I know to get it was cabela's and their website says they are out of most sizes, they do have 6, 8, and 20 lb test available but thats all.

Yup, they're getting more in and that stuff rocks! Hopefully they'll continue to carry it. BPS has it but I do not like giving them my $$.

Yeah, they are a great place to get a variety of outdoor stuff!!!No doubt about that!!!

Thats great that my fellow gander employees gave you such great service!! I have been working at the Gander Mountain in Spring since we opened and love helping our customers. We'll do anything we can to make sure you get the service and equipment you need.

I have really enjoyed my visits to Gander especially the Corsicana location. Great stores and great folks....
