My son left his pole at a fishing spot this weekend. We realized Monday night. I went back Tuesday with a dim hope of finding it and found a sign that someone had found a fishing pole and to call them. In short, my son now has his fishing pole back thanks to the kindness of strangers. Read enough stories about rude people on the lake, there are some caring and honest people out there too If I ever find fishing equipment forgotten beyond the random junk I usually see I will have to do the same.

That's a great story. That reminds me of the times I have both helped people on the water and been helped when my boat was dead.
Thanks for sharing. Ron

It is also great that the receiver (Tony from Oak Point) was appreciative of the Samaritan, shouldn't be required but it is nice anyway.

Some people are honest. My wife lost a diamond bracelet saturday. It cost several thousand dollars. She went to every place that we visited. Someone actually found it and turned it in at the Science Spectrum. I thought there's no way. I was wrong.

Great stories, thanks for sharing. Years ago I fished every weekend at Silver Lake Park, Grapevine Lake. One weekend a friend that had never fished went with me. End of the day back at home unloading I discovered all my rods/reels had not been packed. My friend had assured me at the lake everything was packed for the drive home. About an hour drive home and an hour back to the lake I found a note on the tree where I had put my rods ready for loading. I called the # and picked up my gear. I was so happy and surprised that they were not only NOT stolen but had been taken by someone for safe keeping. Yes, there are GOOD PEOPLE in this WORLD!

When we stop putting faith in humanity, then we stop functioning as a society. Yes there are those out there that don't believe this. There are people out there who will take advantage of this. All I can say, it comes back to you with great dividends if you start applying that simple belief.

I lost 2 money orders that where in my pocket about a month ago. One was for 250$ and the other was 50$. Got a call from Hastings (the video store) asking me to confirm my adress, i told em and they said they had my 2 money orders. Somebody could have just taken them but they didn't and i really really appreciate that, cause i'm poor .
