Not a bad choice. Nice area. I have a good freind that has a house on Wheeler right at the dam. There are some big smallies in that tailrace.

LBJ or Inks in the Hill Country for sure!!!! If east Texas, Sam Rayburn but I'm not certain docks are allowed? Another GREAT lake in east Texas that is highly undiscovered is Lake Nacogdoches.

I'm surprised I am not seeing more Lake Fork proponents -- is it the crowds? I think I have it narrowed to Fork, or Lake Athens or Palestine. Sandies and Hybrids(ok,, at least some) on Palestine with pretty good Bass and crappie. Close to medical and shopping in Tyler a lot of old junk housing. Fork, world class Bass and some duck hunting with good crappie. Farther to a town, no pine trees, crowded at times larger lots with leaseback. Athens has nice housing and good bass and I hear some sandies. Very pricey and a small lake could get bored. Close to Athens a nice town with medical facilities.

I have a house on Whitney that my folks built 22yrs ago have always loved the lake.

If I wasn't on Whitney I would say LBJ.

I love INKS and went to summer camp on it growing up. Pretty Lake.

I am surprised no one is saying Richland Chambers. Dockable waterfront, and the fishing for your species is GREAT. Not alot of boat traffic to. It would be my choice. breakdance

I would like Lake Buchanan for my first choice. Great all around fishing and the lake is a decent size.
