I was going to write my "story" , but after reading this I realized I have a boat and can sometimes catch fish, live an hour from Fork and heck my dad doesn't even fish (LOL) , but in my opinon this is what life is all about. If this was a vote for the winner this man has my vote!

and hats off to you Jeff, what a noble offer.

I would like to have an opportunity to take my father just because he getting older. I grew up fishing and some of my best childhood memories are of me & my dad being on the water. I was fortunate enough to have a dad who would take me with him when he would go on trips w/ his buddies. I think I started going around 5. His father was not around when he was growing up, so that was important to him. The day he found out that mom was having a boy he bought a bumper sticker that read "Take your boy hunting, don't hunt your boy". That was the only bumper sticker that he has ever owned. I grew up in Missouri so we spent weekend after weekend camping and fishing in the southwest part of the state. Traveled to Canada three summers in a row to walleye & northern pike fish. I remember that one of his buddies from work almost backed out of one of the Canada trips because there was a kid going... thought different after I out fished him the whole week. I think I was 11 (-: Now that I'm grown, I took dad on a Father's Day trout fishing trip along the White River in Arkansas a couple years ago, then for week at Lake O' the Pines last month. Anyway, good times spent. I hope I'm the name drawn, but even if I'm not, thank you for what you are doing. That will make a great Father's Day present.

There are so many deserving posts.... Thank you Jeff for your generosity. As our world continues to crumble around us it is comforting to see there are still those striving to continue the legacy that made Our Country so great! God Bless!

My father had a reel in my hand at 3 and I have never looked back. There is not enough time or space on here to list all of the sacrafices he has made so my family would never want for anything. He has always put others before self and never once have I ever heard him complain. He would not have it any other way. The world revolves around his children and grandchildren. I have often talked about taking him to Lake Fork and he has seen the fish that I have been blessed to catch from there. We often laugh and joke about the reason I haven't taken him is that I know he will catch a WHALE the first time out and I wouldn't want him to catch a bigger fish that me. Truth is... It would be awesome to see him catch a fish of a lifetime. I could never give enough to repay him for all he has provided me.....But at 72, I know I'm running out of chances to try. This would be a great memory for both of us!

GOD BLESS!

Very cool idea!
My father is 85 and having some heart issues, it would be great to put him on some Lake fork pigs. He grew up fishing with his father, I always fished with my grandfather(his father) somehow missed fishing with my dad. Hope I get picked! Thanks, Jeff.

I learned how to fish from my father and grandfather at a very early age and some of my best memories of them is when we were fishing together. My father and grandfather have long since passed away and I was blessed with 2 wonderful daughters who love to spend time with me in the outdoors. They have been fishing with me since they were old enough to hold a snoopy rod. They will never get to experience fishing with Grandpa but I try to include them as often as possible and hope they will carry on the love of fishing as it has been passed down to me.

My youngest daughter became my tournament partner at age 10 and now at 13 she always contributes to the fish we weigh in. I am proud to have her as a fishing partner but I understand it is not always easy to learn from "dad". Taking her on a guided trip would give her the opportunity to learn, from a professional, some of the finer points that I am unable to teach her. It would be a memory together I am sure we would never forget.

This has got to be one of the best posts I have read. My father taught me plenty about fishing and how to tell a good fish story. My father raised me up to the age of 10 yrs old until he passed away with diabetes. It was real hard growing up without my father guiding me through life. I still think about him all the time. My father was an upstanding man that revolved his world around me. After growing up with my other relatives in a home that didnt show the love my father did I realized and made a promise to myself that I will treat my kids the same way I was treated with my Dad. I have kept the promise I made and show my 2 kids the things I was taught. My son is 9 yrs old and he tries real hard to follow in my footsteps. Most kids have favorite cartoon heros. My son watches Kevin Van Dam and tells me one day he will be fishing against him in the classics. My son has fished several bass tournaments with me so it looks like I will always have the best fishing partner. Now he teaches his little 2yr old sister how to fish. I can see that he is turning into a little man that is walking in the same footsteps I traveled growing up. I hope the you pick my son and I because moments together with him are priceless. I am sure glad he takes after my father I just hope that with a little guidance he will live a happy life and have a happy family just as I have. Thank you so much for doing things like this.

Don't know where to begin on this one except this is one of the best and touching threads I have seen on here. Amazing how you go out of your way to help someone get closer with their father.

My Dad has always taught me to work hard for everything. No matter if it is just the simple things in life. He has always said if I put 100% into what I do I will be happy. My Dad is my hero. I learned how to hunt and fish at the age 5 and was always taught how to tough things out. My Dad was diagnosed with diabetes a couple years ago and is now climbing on the age of 60. He is honestly one of the hardest workers I have met. He works his reg job then comes home and will not sit down till about 9pm. Not one thing will stop him. I have grown the same exact way. I attend school full time and try to do as much for my family as possible. It is amazing how much one can learn. I am greatly thankful for what my Dad has been able to teach me. I have not been fishing with him in quite sometime due to school. However my Dad is a killer fisher and always beats me. I would love to get out on fork and see if the old man still has what it takes to catch the big-gens

Jeff, you sound like a superb guy. Even if i dont win this trip i will end up buying one in the future. Take care.

Awesome thing to do Man.
Divorced in Dec. My 13 year old Son liked going with me especially during the spawn. Had to sell the boat with the divorce. He has all but lost interest in fishing with me. I have even taken him to a private pay pond but he just wasn't interested, especially since most of the bites were perch bites. I caught a few but that just seemed to frustrate him more. Something like this might get him back on fire for bass fishing, and maybe bring us together a little bit in the process.
Gob Bless.

That would be nice, however I lost my dad on April 20th this year. So all I have is the memories of us fishing together. I do have 2 sons whop love to fish and try to go with them whenever I can. They both have their own boat, so I tag along sometimes.

All fishermen are legends in their own minds! Ranger Boats, Yamaha Outboards, Humminbird Electronics,Motor guide, and all the tackle in the world.

Jeff, what a cool thing to do. My dad is turning 65 this summer and is still working so hard that I can't get him to stop long enough to smell the roses. I keep trying to get him out on the water before his health starts to cause him issues. Maybe if I won a trip like this, he would have to go, right?
