I have a Merc XR6 which required premium gasoline. With the 10% ethonol, the fuel last 3-4 weeks. With the high cost alot of folks are buying the lower octane gas for their cars, I wonder how long does the more expensive gas stay in the tank at the gas station? Am I really getting my money worth buying the high octane gas?

My XR6 doesn't require premium owners manual states 86 or higher. I use regular and Startron. My Merc is a 93 model.
