I'm trying to reorganize my tackle. I pretty much got the crankbaits taken care of, but the dang plastics. I have about 9 worm bags full of [censored]. Do you buy your plastics and pull them out of the bag and put them into something else? Plano storage containers? what else? The other day I cleaned Dick's out of their senkos. i bought 30 bags because they had them on sale. i'm tempted to just leave them in the shopping bag.lol any suggestions?

I just keep the plastic in the original bags and then put the bags into gallon zips. Organized by finesse, flukes, t-rig, and maybe one with a few assorted plastics. 4 or 5 gallon zips all together.

I have a fish and ski and so storing in my boat doesn't work for me. But my partner has a triton and I really like the way he stores his plastics in the boat. He went to walmart and bought the cheap plastic storage totes ( the small ones for like a $1) then seperates his plastics by brand or style, and writes on the lids whats inside, he leaves the plastics in their original packaging. He has several containers and they stack in his large tackle compartment perfectly. You just open the compartment grab the box that says whatever your looking for on the top, and bam, your back to fishing and everything stays organized.

All of my hard tackle (jigs, cranks, topwater etc) is in Plano boxes and my Triton has the built in trays for them. My soft plastics are stored in the big Plano boxes that are twice as deep and sorted first by type (trailers, craws, worms etc) then by brand and color. Makes it easier than digging through a gallon ziploc to find the brand and color you are looking for.

Take what you need on the boat and store the bulk at the house
I use Plano boxes for the boat and sterilight boxes from Walmart for bulk tackle
But don't worry about it no matter what you do there will be a couple of plastic sacks in the boat. Just got to keep the dillagence to tidy up or after a couple of trips the clutter will take over

While doing the reorginze, you may want to re-think how much tackle you need as well. I use to take hundreds of lures (over 75 rattle traps alone) and 30+ pounds of soft plastics on each trip. But I only used a few of what I carried. Now at most I carry the following- 1- 8"X10"X1" with 25 flies. 2- 9"X14"X3" with large hard lures (20 each box) 3- 9"X14"X1.5" with small hard lures (34 each box) 4- 5"X7"X4" spinner boxes, 1 for spinners, 1 for jigs, 1 for slabs and 1 that is still empty. (20 each box). 1- 8"X8"X14' with soft plastics, still in their bags. 1- small tackle box with 3 drawers for different hooks and weights for the soft plastics, and I have pliers, scale and other items in the top storage. 10- casting rods/reels 1- spinning rod/reel 1 - fly rod/reel
This is best for me.

I use the Plano 9 x 14 boxes. They are scattered all over my boat, all compartments and a couple on the floor. Sometimes, I won't even look for something because it seems I have to open every box in order to find it. It's shameful, but I don't know what to do about it. One of these days........
Need to improve my LMB fishing, running out of time.

My daughter bought me the "Easy View Tackle System" for X-mas. I installed it & so far it has worked great. I even installed 1 of the small rods in the built-in ice chest to keep my sandwiches & chips out of the melted ice.

I hate digging through bags and it's soo much easier to read what is written on the outside of the box.

The built-in tackle trays on the Triton make the rest of it a pretty efficient overall system.

Rubbermaid shoe boxes are the perfect size for plastics and they fit in most storage boxes. They last longer than the other brands and are made locally in Greenville TX. I am a little biased since I work there, but they all do the trick. Easy to organize and mark. I separate by worms, creature baits, craws, finesse, stick baits, and rattlesnakes. Plus an easy-view tackle system for the ones used for the day.

I do both. I have some plastics in Plano boxes. Finesse worms, senkos, flukes, speed craws and baby brush hogs. Everything else I keep in the original bag and put them in soft side tackle bags. I have one for jig trailers, one for worms, one for c-rig baits and 1 for misc. plastics. Hard baits I use plano boxes and for jigs, spinner baits and buzz baits I use tupperware and sterilite boxes.
