Been looking around and I've narrowed it down to either a Z6, Z7 or the TX190. I was hoping to get some input from anyone that owns any of these boats as to their likes and dislikes. I call BSP in Garland to see if they did test drives and they don't. I would like to ride with anyone that is willing to take me on a test drive and I'll pay for your gas. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have the SX 200 listed and you are welcome to ride. If you decide different on those other shorter boats.

I own a z-7, has 200 opti on the back. I love it. It handles very well, dry ride, and so far has done everything i have asked of it. I maybe too far away for you to test drive, but if your up in ardmore, Ok holler.

OKIEBASS, thanks for the response. I'm leaning towards the Z7 with the 150 opt pro xs. How does your Z7 do on windy days?

Go with max HP available

That's one decision you will not regret regardless of the situation or deal

Go with the Z-7 with max hp the 190 I had and was ok but really didnt like it to light on windy days and 10 mph would blow it everywhere. But I sold it and went with a Skeeter though.

I guess of those three I'd go with the Z-7, but why not buy a slightly used, better brand boat?

My brothers both own Nitros, one has a Z6 and one has a Z7. My brother with the Z6 loves his boat however it limits him on super windy days. It handles the rough water great for the size, however fishing in the waves is tougher then it would be in any bigger boat. That is his only complaint. My other bro with the z7 loves it, and has not informed me of any problems. He went with it because of price for that size boat. Both are die hard tournament anglers and push them to the brink on tourney days! You will like all three IMO! Enjoy having a new ride soon!

Why don't you go check out a few dealerships that sell other brands and do give test drives because they are not ashamed of there boats. Nitro would be way down the list of most experienced boaters. I'm not saying they are terrible boats there is just alot better boats out there.

I'm not familiar with what kind of boat you're talking about the z70. But, if I was looking to buy a used boat I'd only consider like Ranger, BassCat, Champion, and a few other. You sure don't want a weak transom.

I would have to disagree. I put 800 hours on Z7's. The only problems I had were my fault. I just ordered a Z8. Nitro has come a long ways from the old days. Most the guys that talk bad about them are guys who have not even been in one in 10 years. A boat is a tool. And a z7 with a 150xs is one of the best deals period at that price point.

I have a 18 ft Ranger (oldy but goody). I would do everything possible (finding a clean one-owner even) in order to end up with a 20 footer. Sometimes, you find yourself on a big lake, in the wind. It sure makes a lot of difference. I've cancelled trips to Amistad, Falcon, and even Choke for fear the wind would be a bit higher than I want to tackle with my boat. I've missed out on some good fishing. Being stuck with Canyon Lake and Lake Dunlap is.............better than nothing, I suppose.

Need to improve my LMB fishing, running out of time.
