Some are shallow, some are mid range and some are deep.

Nothing to be specific about. You gotta find them every day. They move around a lot this time of year and depending on time of day, baitfish movements and weather etc they will be from 6" to 40' and you haveto check all water columns.

I found some yesterday chasing shad and by the time you stuck one and took it off the hook you had to move around to find where the school had gone. They kept on the move.

I went after work today for an hour. Because of the record heat, I stuck with casting a crankbait in places where theres heavy structure that provides shade to fish.

I caught this one, then had to leave as the temp was already at 97 F.

Thanks. Its actually a creek here in Katy.
Its a small creek, but theres lots of man-made structure (broken concrete slabs, rocks) on both sides. The structure then provides all these pockets where bass like to hide in.

The one in the pic actually darted out from underneath a slab and struck my lure as soon as it hit the water.

The 10.8 I caught at Chambers was in less than a foot of water. Also had a 9lber on Tawakoni that was dirt deep. thumb

Dang I bet that was neat to catch a 10.8 in less than a foot of water, i bet it stirred up the bottom pretty good.
