If you're interested in LMB, I'd throw Powerbait 10"er's. Black/blue or Motor oil/red flake produce at the ponds that I fish.
You know the old saying
If it floats, flys, or f___s it is always cheaper to rent!
You have to decide which is more important.

If you're going after black bass, I would put grubs on jigheads at the top of my list. 2" grubs catch just about everything; 3" grubs catch some big panfish and all size bass; 4" & 5" grubs on jigheads with oversized hooks catch all size bass all day long.
Zoom trick worms and finesse worms are also great for pond hopping. Wacky rig, T-rig, C-rig, split shot rig, shakey head, weightless, etc... you name it a straight tail worm can do it.
Flukes work great in stained to clear waters. Topwaters normally are great on ponds this time of year. I like a size 5-9 Rapala Floating Minnow as my favorite topwater. They are extremely versatile and produce like few other hardbaits can.
Good Luck and let us know what you get and how you do!

3", 4", 5" Kalin Lunker Grub. Watermelon red flake is the best color for soft plastics in ponds and tanks IMHO. A small chart dip on the tail can turn a so-so bite into a great bite and vice-versa. Blue Pearl is another fav of mine. Smoke colors work well in clear pond, along with Salt & Pepper, Sand, Green Pumpkin and Red Craw. I like black/blue in stained waters, along with black/chart, Junebug, Redbug and Chart.
Good Luck, let us know how you do.

I've been doing good throwing a White Buzzbait with a Trailer Hook. A 5inch Senko Texas Rigged fished weightless. Popper's seem to work good. Shallow Running Crankbaits too, if the vegetation isn't too thick.

early: poppers or buzzbaits, keep 'em on the small side. mid to late: crankbaits, carolina rigs and texas rigs (big lizards are still great).
also the wacky rig early and late. shhhh...green pumpkin.....

i got five in an hour yesterday on a tequila sunrise 7in power worm. i also recently started using a watermelon red brushhog. and if the fish are feeding and you have a pretty good idea of where the big fish are ive started liking swimbaits. also i pitched a jig near a weed line today and did alright. flukes will catch fish but lately they havent been giving me the size i want. and i like a walk the dog baits for top water. thats alot sorry. oh! and spinner baits were working today. ok now i'm done
