Sounds like a great place for the local game warden to make a surprise visit..Especially the day of and several days after stockings occur. A few high priced tickets and an GW presence occasionally seems to deter some of those kinds of people. I've wanted to take my kids out there too and have shown up to see the crowds. We don't even bother to stop when it's like that.

They stocked Chisolm Park 5:30 p.m. Tues May 31 with 100 cats- will be stocking again Sat June 4th for Kids All American Fishing Derby held until noon but you must pre register 817 788 7320 with 700 catfish- yes, there were people catching more than 5 per day using more than 2 rods- most cats caught on shrimp and Magic bait-I caught 1 but let it go before getting it on the bank...

Now how did you find out they will be stocking on june 4th? I thought they dont give that info out.

I was told by stocking employee to look up chisolm park for kids all american derby on google.They did tell me number (700 catfish) and apx size (2-3 lbs). Good luck fishing.

What does 700 mean? Is that how many they stock at one time,all year or is that 700 cats on the 4th?

Supposedly they will stock up to 700 catfish on june 4th for the derby. Also on tx pks and wldlf website, under neighborhood fishing ponds, they list stock dates to area ponds.june 13 and 27-july 11 and 25-sept 5 and 19-oct 3 and 17 and 21. No august stockings will occur due to weather. Hope this helps.

I just called and the actual number is 817-788-7325. I just registered my daughter for it. You have to go to 700 May dr in Hurst to register.

They normally stock it the day or two before the children's event so 700 fish maybe right

went tonight for about an hour caught 6, 2 mud cats and the rest stockers,the stockers were 12-14 inch fish. Caught them all on Danny Kings Original, I forgot the bread which is what I normally use there.
