Just under 2 weeks before my next offshore adventure.... any been out lately around port a? Chomping at the bit does not describe it........ someone tell me something please.

I think it should depend on the boat, right now I would question even getting out on Aransas bay but hey Im a scaredy cat. Thats why the Lord created Redfish bay for folks like me scared of the big winds...If hear any rumors of boats not going out Il post ya back.

You should have no problems then. Just take your dramamine and DONT GET DRUNK the night before or during the trip lol.

A couple of weeks ago, I stayed up in Port A drinking until about 3:30. After about two hours of sleep I walked up to the boat. The Capt and deckhand were almost ready.

I remember the Capt saying something like "You know the winds been blowing about 25kts all night". I said, "Yep, let's go".
The only reason I won't fish is if the Capt thinks it's to dangerous.

It's always a long day when you haven't slept and been drinking most of the night. I enjoy drinking with friends and that's part of the experience. But, I had a great time BS-ing the Capt and deckhand. Bending a rod was also sweet.

Snapper season opens in the morning. Sadly, AJ season is closed. I'll be down there this weekend again to try out some new toys.

Remember you can only keep two. Vent those you don't want to take. Bring them up slowly for a safer release. No need to fish deep water. There's plenty out there.

I'm fishing 6:30am to 6:00pm. Will they let you take your own pole? Really don't think my Bass Tackle will hold up.

no need to take your own rob make the deck hands do all the work for u. yeah all im hearing is snapper. if your looking for something special i suggest paying for the charter. winds been laying down a bit but no telling on the texas coast.
