So, I picked up some Costa's Saturday. Wore em in my car to work on Monday, I've never even worn them outside, then put them back in the case and leave em in the glove box, then this morning I'm greeted with this.

So I call up the "great" local store were I picked em up. Roy's Bait and Tackle. And they say, even though I only purchased these on Saturday. I've gotta go to Costa. And those jokers want me to pay to ship them, and 12 bucks for them to just look at them. And basically imply that any lens crack is not covered under their "lifetime warranty."

So basically I guess I'm a sucker, drop all that money, and the tackle store, or Costa basically say, tough [censored]. I guess I'll have to fork over even more money to get them to even look at them. Great

I no longer use Costas because they have never held up for me..

Lots of sweat and saltwater fishing, all the glued on pieces come off...

That sucks! I've always used the $15 pairs at wal-mart and and they've never done that!

yeah, no joke. Me too, but I'd decided it was time to protect my eyes better.

This suprises me. I just sent back a pair of Fathom's that I bought in '08 because the "soft rubber" on the temples started coming off. I expected them to charge me something to change them out, on top of the $12.95 s&h fee, due to normal wear and tear, but they didn't. Repaired in less than a week after they received them and sent back. Sucks to hear that not everyone has had the same experience I have.

I don't know jack about Roy's but have you actually talked to Costa? My experience over the last 15 years is very different.

Why $12 for shipping? Can't you just go to the post office and get one of those $7 flat rate boxes to ship it in?

Or why not save all your money, and walk in to the Academy Customer Service desk and exchange them for a new pair. No questions asked.

lol, because I didn't buy them at Academy. Academy has always treated me right, so no point in screwing with em, quite yet. But Costa's charges 12 bucks to just look at the glasses. (I got them to say they wouldn't charge me, when I called again) we'll see how it goes...

Academy will not accept returns on Costas. Its one of the only items I know of in the store that has a no return policy. I tried several Academy's when I broke mine and they would not accept them.

The Longview store will warranty Costas with no questions asked. I know, I've seen them do it.

well, good news, they sent me an email saying they were going to fix em, and didn't ask for money.

That's good but why didn't the tackle shop take them back?
