 Help hooking up trolling motor

U have a motor guide 12/24 with reds and a black. How do I connect those. Once connected I also need to connect a minnkota 3 bank charger.

Charger goes direct to each battery.
12/24 should have 4 wires...can you tell me colors?

If your boat is not prewired for a trolling motor:
At the two trolling motor batteries, put a jumper (6 guage or larger wire)between the positive of one battery and the negative of the other battery.
Connect the motor negative (black wire) to the empty negative post of the battery you have connected the jumper-to-positive.
One of the red wires goes to the empty positive post of the battery that has the jumper connected to the negative post.
The other red (should be orange)(some motors have a white wire) wire connects to the positive post of the battery you connected the trolling motor negative (black wire) to and already has the jumper connected to the positive.
The switch on the motor selects 12 or 24 volts.
