Ok for the hunting comment C'MON deer arent swimming around underwater. correct. they are however running around in the woods and what not, do you have to shoot where you think they would likely be and see if you hit one for it to be hunting?

No.. Obviously site fishing is legal--ask Shaw Grigsby, Dean Rojas, etc... If it were easy then all those pros would be doing it at the same time, but it is a specific-difficult to master-skill so the guys play to their strengths. Platform fishing is NOT cheating unless one is in a competition where the rules prohibit elevated platforms. If I see someone catch a 12lb bass-I'm thinking awesome lifetime accomplishment whether they catch the fish ladder-man way on a bed or 28ft of water with a football jig, etc..--
I find all ways of fishing hard at times, esp trying to catch really big ones-- so anyway I can get them in the boat is good enough for me. My balance isn't too good so I'm more worried about falling in than looking for fish anyway so platforms don't help me too much.

A friend of mine (who likes to sight fish) told me you guys practice by putting a little bass in a 55 gal drum filled with water and set it next to your boat, is this true?
Haha.

If you fish tournaments where the rules say no raised decks and you have one, then you're cheating. If you have one to increase your fishing enjoyment outside of tournaments, then that's fine. You could make an argument that advanced sonar units or side-imaging is cheating since not everyone has them yet.

I don't like bed fishing during the spawn.
I wouldn't like to be hooked & pulled from my bed during sex!

Eventhough you can see them, doesnt mean you will catch them
sometimes it more difficult to catch the ones you can see, bc sometimes they can see you too +1

On more than one occasion I have heard people say that using an elevated platform while sight fishing is "cheating". What are yall's thoughts? That is just plain silly. Why would it be?
