I'm curious too, the anchor feature would be nice I would think.

I have, without exaggeration, doubled my fish in the boat count. I thought I was a decent bass fisherman, but after having IPilot for a while now, I know I can put fish in the boat. Not having to mess with the trolling motor, as much, has made a real difference. I probably use the "anchor" feature more than anything. It holds great, especially in the wind. One thing I like a lot is, I retie a lot because of the rocks I fish at Falcon. When I get ready to retie, I set the TM on anchor, retie and I'm not blown into the shore or brush in the meantime. I turn anchor off and continue to fish as if nothing happened. Same thing if I catch a fish, hit anchor, fight the fish, continue in the same spot. From what I've read and heard, you either love or hate IPilot. I love mine.

I've had the terrova for 3 years now. I have found very little good about it. It also has the Ipilot, the anchor holds within maybe 20ft. not the 5 that is advertised. It is slow to turn, it goes to far when you do turn, the right turn works fairly decent but the left turn is stand on it to make it work. The foot control has been reworked and didn't help. { new circuit board} After a day of fishing with the terrova get ready for a night of leg cramps from all the button pushing. Seriously get you a fortrex.

Just a clarification, I'm running the PowerDrive V2 with Ipilot and not the Terrova.

I have the Terrova with Ipilot and have had zero problems with response speed in turning (in either direction). I don't use the foot pedal. I use the remote.
The autopilot feature is amazing. Just point in the direction you want to go and it does the rest. It auto-corrects to keep you on course if the wind starts to push you off course.
The spot lock also works well. It can struggle in 30 mph winds to hold position (when winds are shifting direction), but even then I've not had any issue holding a 15-20 foot diameter. In light or no wind, it easily holds a 5-10 foot diameter. I have noticed that in the high winds, the control parameters aren't set correctly. My only wish is that MinnKota would give us access to the PID parameters. I'm confident that if I could tweak the gain and integral, I could hold 5-10 feet in 30 mph winds.
Last week I went out in 20-30 mph wind. At one spot on the lake, the wind was shifting quite a bit as it came around a bend. This had me moving in an oval shape, but still no more than 20 feet total. I moved to the other side of the lake and squeezed into a stump pile where I only had a 20 foot hole with no stumps. The wind was constant direction and still 20-30 mph. Pointing the bow into the wind, the Ipilot held me steady in the center of the stump hole and I never got closer than 5-6 feet from a stump.
If I ever get the time, I'm going to program in my usual route. That's another nice feature. You can put in waypoints and then it will follow the path. Push the button again and it either retraces the steps or goes back to the start and runs the path again.

was told by a minnkota rep the ipilot has made the talon obsolete The rep was lying to you. When bed fishing you don't want your trolling motor running at all times...that is ridiculous. That being said, I love my terrova with ipilot for fishing deep structure, but when it comes to staying put in a light wind close to timber, bridges or anything else, it can be a little bit cumbersome... luckily I can make it work for my style of fishing. I can honestly say though, that it is so much easier to fish humps, points, ridges and brushpiles etc especially when the wind is blowing 20+. I have caught more 5+ lb fish this year than I have any other year of fishing, and we are only half way through the year! Might also have something to do with the fact that I have fished Fork a lot more this year than any other year, lol. But I will say, I love my terrova but would love a powerpole or a talon or two to go with it to make fishing shallow around timber a little easier.

Agreed. I would definitely NOT consider Ipilot a replacement for a Talon or Power Pole in shallow water.

I don't have one on my boat but have fished out of the back of a boat that has one quite a bit. It is awesome out deep. the anchor and spot lock work great I am not a fan of how it deploys and stows.

Jason That part does suck, but I had a wireless Motorguide that deployed and stowed the same way and the MinnKota is lighter.
