My wife bought me two units for a late Xmas gift a 1198 and a 998, i had been looking to upgrade my Lowrance graphs for the past two years. I had a set back with my health and had plenty of time to read and decide what i wanted to do. I have been running Lowrance units for many many years. The thing that made me change to Birds was the fact that if a unit was older than three years they could never repair it. They always offered me a voucher towards the purchase of another Lowrance unit. I sold the old units and got the Birds because every time i searched the net for answers i found information that you either had done or you directed someone too. Thanks for sharing your wealth of information.
