you know what guys, i had fun, and carey did a nice thing putting me on those carp. to me yall are just acting like a bunch of whiney little girls. i caught most of the carp on the fly rod. could yall just bug off, and regonize that i had fun. people like okieangler and crackerbait are the reasons that nice people like carey and i tend to shy away from this section. get a life.

He caught all but two on the "FLY ROD" using a "FLY" made from fur and feathers. Any way you see it, it was fly fishing. He made 30 ft casts with a 7 ft leader. If you didn't hit a spot the size of a dinner plate, you wouldn't hook up. So that makes it an accurate cast. - Fly Fishing. ( no bait or sent )
And yes, it was muddy, on the windblown bank. A couple ft out it was three ft visibility. Usually when the wind is blowing into a bank, it churns it up. FYI.
- And yes Mike, bait was used on the spinning reels at the end due to he had no more flies left to throw. 3-4 fish landed- Bait Fishing.
I can hit the rivers, ponds, or main lake and catch these when ever I want. I use stealth on all the fish I fish for, it's common sense.

Who is crackerbait? I just stated that I noticed there was a spinning reel posted in a picture in the fly fishing forum. Just a simple observation on my part.

Never ceases to amaze me how the "upper echelon flyboys" heap the praise on each other over a pretty little slimer, but look for an opportunity to attack those who also use spinning or baitcasters to catch big fish.
Maybe its their superior intellect rising to the top.

for the record, this entire thread had (tough to tell now that everything is edited) exactly nothing to do with any traditional vs. flyfishing nonsense. Convenient out though

These Carey Thorn posts put more DFW folks out on the water and closer to the fish than almost the rest of our posts combined. And if his posts do ( or dont ) stretch the truth somewhat, well, remember what ol Al would say: "I wouldn't trust a man that didn't cheat a little" I had to post a pic, as there are only NSFW deadwood videos on youtube thanks Carey

Unless you are wearing a grass skirt and sleeping in a ditch and eating only road kill, you too are part of 'the problem'.

I fished with baitcasters and spinning reels all this past weekend in the salt...catching fish is catching fish to me. Get our panties out of your crack and calm down.

Convenient out though Can't speak for your posts, since they were apparently so inflammatory that they were deleted before I could read them, however I have read those from Bass Bug, and saw his "devil" notation on the photo he edited. So Okie, of your wonderful total of 55 posts on this forum, how many do you estimate included some sort of negative verbiage regarding Carey?

Just stating facts. I use all weapons on the water, but have many friends who are exclusive longrodders. Goes with the territory living in the Rockies for 40 years. After hearing and reading all the negativism towards bait, treble hooks, and just about anything that ain't involving hand tied flies from the Elitist fly people for so long, I just smile anymore.

It looks like you showed those guys a good time, Carey! I'm still waiting on my first carp on the fly. As soon as the wind lays down a bit (and I can get off work) I'm headed to Lavon with my fly rod to try and scare up a carp and catfish on the fly. Once again, great job putting those guys on the fish.
