Come on, name your favorite 8 weight lines:
Floater
Lite Sink
Super Sink
See, he needs 1 reel and 3 spools

Unless you are wearing a grass skirt and sleeping in a ditch and eating only road kill, you too are part of 'the problem'.

Teeny Mini-Tip 8 - 5' of quick-sinking tip integrated into a WF floating line
Teeny TS 350 - 30' of sink (6"ips sink rate), beautiful casting line, great for stripers
I like the bass taper WF floating lines, but honestly any good-quality WF floater is fine in my opinion.
These are the lines I like best. YMMV.

I have a Rio Clouser on my 5 weight and it is one mighty fine 1st class, slippery, well behaved fly line. I'd like to try that Bass line

Whoa! I just realized two things. First of all, I didn't realize that Steve started a new thread on my behalf. For some reason I didn't see that when I responded this morning. Thanks Steve! I'll be honest, when I started the "which reel" thread, I thought for sure I was going to get hammered. You've all seen it on other forums. Someone asks a simple question and gets jumped by someone else for not using search. Thank you Steve! And thanks to all the have replied!!! Ok, second thing I just noticed. I got censored above for using a word that rhymes with "clap". Just replace the l with an r. The o ly reason I point it out is for one, I think it's funny. But for real, I think it makes me look like I said a much naughtier word. As a Pastor, I just wanted to clear it up

Odatria, see that "edit" button at the bottom of your post? You can go in and delete the censored word from your post and nobody has to know about it.

Another personal preference post, but here's my 2 cents:
Floating lines, I am a Rio Girl all the way.
After looking at the physics of a sink tip, it makes no sense to fish them, and it explains why I lost fish after the initial hook up--slack is automatically created in a sink tip line, regardless the excellent skill of the fly fisher.
Just fell in love with Orvis' Depth Charge. The Depth Charge is the smoothest and easiest casting full sinking line. Using the 300 grain on my 7#. I own Rio's, Scientific Angler's, and Jim Teeny's full sinking lines, too, but I love the Orvis line the best.

I've got the Rio Saltwater Clouser on my big Mini Mag and I've been very pleased with it for my summertime bass chasing. However, if the water temperature is 75 degrees or less, it turns into a stiff piece of steel cable. I constantly step on it, almost never clean it or condition it, and generally abuse it constantly and it has been a great performing line for me. I'll be honest, when I started the "which reel" thread, I thought for sure I was going to get hammered. You've all seen it on other forums. Someone asks a simple question and gets jumped by someone else for not using search. Thank you Steve! And thanks to all the have replied!!! We aren't like those other forums, but don't go thinking we're normal either.

An excellent floater, and then a monster sink and then a barely sink, is the way to go. Unless some one says something like " get a 10 weight floater for short casting big bass flies". Then I'll just agree w that idea also. Especially if we then get into promoting shooting heads. Is it OK to have more'n 3 spools. Hey Odatria, please update and add your location to your profile. Same goes for all you'se here undocumented posters.

Fly lines are definitely my weakest area of understanding when it comes to fly fishing. I have never owned anything but wf floating lines. One of these days, I am sure that will change. But I have no idea when... Whenever it is, I am sure I will be asking yall for sugestions.

Actually, I will probably be asking Scott for advice, as I think he probably uses it more than anyone I know.
