yes, it'll work. As a general rule use darker colors in muddy water.

I might use red in stained water but prolly not in "muddy" water.

Check out Culprit baits--tomato color.

Black neon and Junebug would work well also.

You don't want transparent in muddy water. Transparent or translucent colors are better in clear water.
