Ok Gentlemen..Whats the over/under on the Corp releasing water from Lavon before the end of May?It is currently 489.68 and rising at a decent clip.If they do open I wonder if they will open just one or two a bit or,Open enough for the fish to come up from Hubbard?Sitting here biting my nails ready to see some of that fabled Lavon Dam action.

Not anytime soon. Lavon is not even above its conservation pool yet.

Not even gonna happen. I doubt any water is released this spring at all. We would need some serious flooding for that to happen. It's a little late for that. It is still 2.5 ft below full. The ground around here soaks up water way to fast to get it done without several consecutive days of heavy rain.

Even still, it takes about a week of open gates to bring the big fish it seems.

Last time they were open long enough to get the fish really biting was October 2009

So, in other words...don't hold your breath.

Access below Ray Hubbard Dam in non existent unless you want to trek a couple miles through the most snake infested area I have ever seen. Even then you will most likely be told to leave by City of Dallas and or the Game Warden. Its a shame because it has virtually been untouched since the mid eighties and there are some absolute monsters that will never see a hook. sigh

even if you take a boat up the river leading to the dam you still have to deal with a barrier(cable) blocking you from getting within casting distance of the dam.
