Senate bill 408 passed this morning banning all motor boats on brazos river. Call your governor now and have him veto this bill. 512 463 2000 governors office number

It bans fan powered boats and hovercraft. It is for a small section of river around around Possum Kingdom and Palo Pinto lakes if I understand correctly.

But I think it is carp that they are gonna try and ban these air boats. Just because they are loud.
There are also interest groups trying to expand the area all the way from Possum Kingdom down to Whitney.

I kinda like it just because of the fact that last time I was out there on my Kayak I lost count off how many A-holes in powerboats came blazing past me at full throttle with trim all the way down. some of them withing about 15 to 20 feet. I didnt lose count of how many actually slowed down as they passed. 2... lol

I am from Palo Pinto county and from what I understand it is Palo Pinto county's own famous Alice Walton (heir to Wal-Mart) who got her panties ruffled and mustered her troops to do this. So... Big Business strikes again! Aint' it great?

It's kinda funny that no one cares until they take away something they like to do. It might be kayaking next, then will you kinda like it!!!

NO I wouldnt. But if they started doing that I would think they would ban fishing altogether. Only reason I said I like it is because most people in larger powerboats have absolutely ZERO respect for anyone else on the water. Put yourself in a kayak and you will see what I mean real quick. On the other hand I do not like how they think they can just ban whatever they want.

Airboats are annoying to people and wildlife as or most jetboats. I'm not familiar with how populated the area you are referring to is but if I had property trying to enjoy the peace and quite along the river I would be all for banning any form of loud and annoying traffic. Some lakes have banned loud boats same as neighborhoods have banned loud music and vehicles with loud pipes. Most cities in west Texas have passed city ordinances against engine (Jake) brakes for those very reasons. Most folks either retired or reaching retirement age I think can associate with that.

Look this has everything to do with the rich lady shotting at the airboat last year. She can't shot at them so she wants to ban them. They do this what is next?


This lady is Alice Walden ( Miss Walmart} she has donated some land for a State Park if she could get the bill passed.
