I've heard the drum are in the ship channel taking cracked crab. Also, there are plenty of sheepshead on the jetty being taken on live shrimp.

Be sure to let us know how you do! I'm headed down in a few weeks.

Good luck!

I haven't been down in a couple weeks, but from what I hear water has been changing from day to day. You will be a few days ahead of a new moon which should push the tides a bit higher, not to mention just ahead of a small front. Low pressure usually = better fishing. Drum have been pretty good in the Ingleside ship channel. Crab is a good bait, but I usually just use peeled shrimp and do pretty well.

Let us know how you do. I won't be back that way until March 17th.

Yes Peeled shrimp...not that hard of a concept, just take off the shell. I figured eveyone could figure out what I meant without a diagram.

BTW- Congrats on post #10. Seems that you've made friends on every thread you've posted on so far...

Do you boil the shrimp first? If so, then have you tried dipping them in cocktail sauce and then applying them to the hook? I think the next time I go out I am gonna give hush puppies a shot.

Im just busting your chops kid. Take it easy.

HEll yea the drum are biting like crazy. Its the "Drum Run". Dead shrimp, small crab, sea lice, or whatever. Probably your best bet since drum don't pay much attention to the weather. The guys at my work have been bringing in monster drum on a daily bases. There is some water back on the flats and the trout/reds have been active when the weather is good. Right now it is not to good due to the North Winds. Maybee when it lets up. I have been catching trout on Hi pitch she Dogs, mirror lures, and assasins.
