Hello everyone, my name is Jesse and i live in the DFW area. this is my first post on the forum but been following for some years now. i've enjoyed the tons of great information and stories that are passed along from day to day as well as trying to crack some of the code that is so often spoken on many posts.
long story short is my mom is my fishing buddy. she has traveled to many lakes and creeks anchored to me with a rope on the steep banks to keep her from falling, lol! well mothers day is coming up and she wants a striper trip. we catch plenty of sandies off the bank but she says she wants to get out there where the big ones are. says the little ones (keepers even) are too hard to take off the hook with their little mouths. so i'm just looking for a little advice or recommendation for a good, honest guide and i would greatly appreciate it from anyone that would like to offer. i've looked at the various websites and links on the forum but i'm really big on word of mouth. thanks for the help in advance, so much for the long story short.

JD Lyle on Lake Texoma for stripers. Hybrids arent as big as stripers, but they do get pretty big and are more plentiful, as are guides for them. In my opinion, a five pound hybrid is more fun to catch than a five pound striper. There are more lakes around the area with hybrids, so you wont have to travel as far to catch them as you would stripers. There are some really good hybid guides in DFW. Keith Bunch on Lake Bridgeport, Kerry Dugan on Benbrook, Micheal Acosta on Benbrook and Granbury just to name a couple. Do a search in this forum and you can see some of the deals that they have during the week and what not.

I agree with catfish, you can usually fish Benbrook for about half of what it cost to go to Texoma and get a guide. There is another side. Benbrook is on and off most of the time. Texoma, the guides are so busy they know where to fish most all of the time. Never fished with JD but have heard and read lots of good things about him. The guides on Benbrook are good also.

I am taking a group of 36 up to fish with JD this weekend. I know it will be a great time and he will do his best to put us on fish. JD is very personable and easy to talk to and will give you as much of his knowledge as you want when it comes to fishing and fish patterns. Check out his web site, www.texomaguide.com and see what you think.

Chris Carey - Striper Express is a awesome guide on Texoma & knows the lake & where the fish are.. He is a TFF member on here also.. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a guide on Texoma..
Wreck in 08 I died twice but with the grace of GOD & the amazing staff at Parkland Hosp I made it thru... It wasn't my time... Fully disabled & fishing every day...

Kerry Dugan is a first class hybrid guide on Benbrook. His equipment and boat are top notch. I have lost the feeling in my hands, which means I get a lot of backlashes, and Kerry was very patient with me. We caught a lot of fish on a cold and windy day. I caught a record yellow hybrid. Kerry knows where the big hybrids are. I would highly recommend him. He can be reached at 817-727-1533.

Like others have said, I think hybrids are more fun to catch. Bill manning on Richland chambers is awesome and the lake is not usually crowded and there are some monster fish in there. His number is 214-207-6893...as him about night fishing too
