Not sure what everyone else's experiences are but I have almost proven (up here in Minnesota) that when a front moves in, the fish bite seems to get much better. That is right before and during the rain.
Experts say that a front turns the fishing off right when it moves out. I think as long as the temperature doesn't make a drastic change, the fishing doesn't change that much.
That is up here in our lakes though. I think it is much different for your massive reserviours. This "theory" doesn't work for fishing rivers up here because the river gets all muddy and stained with the run-off from the rain.

I sure hope they are biting on Friday! Going on my first guided trip to Fork. I'm sure it won't be as good as it probably was before the fronts.

In my experience, always better before and start of the rain. Right after has never been nearly as good, I think because of less water visibility, water level change, and barometric pressure change.
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

In summer with hot temps i have had some great days just after a rain. Places where new water is running into the lake are good places to start. With rain comes current and increased oxygen. Having said that, I have great luck before, during and after rain.
Bass fishing is like a 30,000 acre golf course with no flags and five holes you can't see- Tim

Ive been catching lots of fish right after the rains. If theres not alot of runoff cool rain will clear up the water . Just like pouring cool water in camp coffe to knock down the grains. I also think when the wind changes from out of the north it triggers feeding .

I've always been most productive just before the rain. After it's over it tends to slow down considerably. Having said that, saturday morning it rained good before daylight and my dad and I watched the best lightning show on the way to the lake. As we pulled into the ramp, we decided it was gone for the morning, and we got on our best bite of the year. We caught fish good on buzzbaits and soft plastics around lily pads. We caught 6 fish over 5 lbs.

Usually I've found it to be better before. With the unstable weather we've had lately, who knows....only one way to be sure.

I think the bass instinctively head to the shallows to feed during and after a rain. My reasoning for this is that so much food (grasshoppers, worms, bugs, etc) gets washed into the lake during and after a good rain making for an easy meal. At least that has been my experience and take on this.

U should be good, Friday..that front isn't supposed to be very strong And as noted on here, right before and during the front are usually the best times..
