I recently got a 2 man boat. We have fished lake pat cleburne on the north end where it feeds into the creek. Showed a lot of fish on the depth finder but not a bite. Last weekend fished cedar creek on whitney. Did pretty good. I'm looking for some more spots for a small boat. Was thinking about trying cleburne state park but I don't know if it holds any bass. Any information about cleburne or any recommended spots for a 2 man boat would be appreciated.

I haven't been but went today just to look at the facilities. They have done a ton of renovations out there. Stocking reports lean heavily on catfish but they have stocked bass as well. Shoreline sure looks good with reeds and some brush everywhere. Am gonna take my two little ones this weekend maybe. Will keep u posted.

I've spent a lot of time float tubing Cleburne State Park. It's a small lake but I've got some good fish out there. In a 2 man boat I'd hit Mineral Wells and Meridian State Parks also. Bigger lakes and also not as crowded as most of the public lakes that aren't in State Parks. Mineral Wells isn't a no-wake speed limit but it does say "prudent speed". In my experience, boaters take it easy out there for the most part as there are lots of kayaks and pedal boats on the lake. Mineral Wells is covered by a ring of grass on the shore so it's really a bank-beaters paradise. All the fish are in the grass. Baby Brush Hawgs have always produced well for me.

My Dad fished CSP this last Sunday, said he missed about a 7 pounder on a rattle trap by the dam, spit it when he jumped.

You could also try Lake Alvarado, they have been catching some nice ones out there on the Wednesday night tournaments.

thanks for everyones input. I was curious about CSP but sounds kinda catfish heavy. Still not sure where I will go this weekend but leaning towards Alvarado. I've been hearing good things about it and wanting to check it out.

wow, I like fishing traps but I lost a big one that way myself. They seem to throw it pretty easy. How many bass did he land?
