I am moving to San Marcos next week. Any suggestions on where to go first? I will be living close to campus so if I could bike somewhere close that would be great! Also think I will use the 5wt or 7wt more down there?

Calling Fly Fishing a hobby is like calling Brain Surgery a job.

San Marcos river runs right through town. You are not far off from the Blanco either.

It's more than the catfish would do.

I'd become an ol' pal of the Comal, if I could.

Unless you are wearing a grass skirt and sleeping in a ditch and eating only road kill, you too are part of 'the problem'.

Dang! A brilliant move. Maybe I should go back to school.

I love san marcos. Lots of water in the area. You have the san marcos river tight there if you can cast between all the tubers, partiers and hot chicks sunbathing. I saw some huge rios under " the River pub"

Bowfishing sucks

San Marcos is one of my favorite rivers in the Summertime. Just hit it east of the highway and you'll avoid a lot of the tubers.
