I'm a summer camp counselor at the Cy-Creek YMCA, and also a member of the bass fishing team at SHSU. This year I've been given the AMAZING opportunity to spread our love for this sport to a younger generation. I've been put in charge of a new activity we're doing at summer camp, A FISHING CLUB!!
I will be in charge of teaching the young ones a new technique or method each week and at the end of each week they must, on their own, show me what they've learned.

But this is where we need some help, as far as fishing poles go, we can afford to supply those, but that's about it. so what I'm asking is for anyone who might own a tackle shop or heck even from your own collection we need some donations.
We're most in need of...
-Bobbers
-Fishing Line
-Hooks
-Small Tackle Boxes
-Pliers
-Small Panfish Lures
-Weights (split shots, slide sinkers, etc.)
-Plastic Worms
-ANYTHING YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO DONATE TO THE FUTURE OF OUR SPORT!!

Thanks ahead of time,
Daniel Hernandez

I am sure Daniel will do a good job this summer; helping the YMCA camp kids learn how to fish. So come on guys lets help out a good cause and sent the kids some stuff to fish with.
I am working with Daniel on setting up some contest for the kids at camp; casting, knot tying, fish identification and many others.
These kids love to compete, so send some prizes like; worms, caps, T-shirts, rods, reels, tackle of all kinds, and anything else you can thank of that a kid would like to win as a prize.

My box is in the mail. Thanks, Daniel for your hard work.

I work for bass pro and they are usually really good with working events and donating supplies, go give them a try. Make sure you have your ducks in a row and all the papper work ready

When do you get started? I will go through some of my things I need to sort through and see if I can get them sent to you. Reels? What type do you need? Might have some available that are in working condition. should have plenty of line available.

Thanks Big Red!!!

I know there will be some kids who know how to use a baitcaster, so I'd like to give them the opportunity to practice that, and also teach the others the basics of using a baitcaster. I have a couple spinning reels I am donating, and we have all the "push button" reels we need. So any baitcaster would work, and maybe even some spinning reels.
As far as fishing line i've got a couple spools I myself am donating, but as we all know, you can never have too much line.

Once again, ANYTHING you can donate will be put to good use, and will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks and God Bless

Dangit, I wish you had posted this a couple of days ago as I walked into Academy in McAllen last week and they had a penny clearance going on. I bought $22 worth of panfish jigs. I've since took out what I wanted and given most of the rest away to friends and neighbors, but you're welcome to what is left. I've also got a bag of plastic worms I'll send along.

Do you still need fishing stuff? I have a LOT of it. too much to ship. I could meet you between Lufkin and Huntsville or if you're near Lufkin soon, pick it up.
