For those of you that have Fish finders on your yak. How do you anchor you battery boxes to your kayak so they don't bounce around? I was thinking about using velcro on the bottom of the hull, and the bottom of the battery box. That way it could be taken out if need be. Are there any better ways? Pictures would be a good thing.

I have my battery inside a small styrofoam cooler box. Havent had to worry about it bouncing, it kinda seats inside the front hatch by itself. I just have a bungee around it to keep the lid on.

My battery and fuse are in a rolltop drybag, the bag snaps around a short length of bungee between my hatch lid and the kayak itself. With weight in the front(battery+gear bag of"stuff to not be stranded without"), my kayak sits level in the water.

I use industrial velcro circles. It works great, never have it sliding around.

I have mine in a cheap small cooler. I don't think it moves all that much in my kayak.

I just keep mine in a dry bag and latch it around the sail mount pole in the front hatch of our Outbacks. It doesn't move at all and the 12v deer feeder battery fits perfectly into that little indention in the hull under the front hatch.

I used the marine velcro from academy like you described and it has worked well for me.

I use the Hobie dry bag that came with my Outback. I anchor it to the sail mount in the hull too. Any of ya experiencing dampness in the hull since running the FF cables out from it?

My dry bag has a soft rubber bottom on it that doesn't allow the bag to slide around. If I dropped my kayak hard it would move. Ruff water isn't enough to move my bag around. I like the industrial velco idea also. I guess I could always wedge my battery n bag inside the hull somewhere if I got real concerned

I just keep my battery in the hatch in front of me. No dry bag, no box. A little moisture won't damage it.
I won't get 4" of water inside my hull and, if I do, I got bigger problems than my battery.
There is always a litle water inside my hull because I add water between my transducer and the hull and I'm not very carefull about keeping it in the well.
