Very clever Smoke but what you are doing is taking two different things I said and trying your best to turn them into one.You can try to put words in my mouth or twist things any way you want in an effort to support your statement but you have failed.Perhaps you misinterpreted what I did say.I never said the guy following wasn't lazy. What I said is the one who doesn't do it right IS lazy.I must "respectfully disagree" that fickle finger of fate is being pointed at a person who is simply an opportunist. The person trying to put out a brushpile in broad daylight is the LAZY one. Which came first , the lazy one or the opportunist? One is just lazier than the other. But you can't say that the guy who is putting out the pile is doing anything he can to prevent the situation that occured. Therefore he is LAZY!!
PS...now expose yourself and claim foul when someone looks!!

Ok so I am still new to the bass fishing game (from way up north). Hell I didn't even know you were allowed to just create habitat and throw it in the water. I suppose its all natural (assuming that) anyway.
If we call the guy following lazy. Couldn't we all call the guy who created a fishing spot lazy, for not doing his own scouting?

The whole point period is be a man have some sportsmanship and make your own spots scout your own stuff and yes it is lazy to follow another man out and watch where he is dumping piles and GPS them for your own fishing period end of story. Now if you find it own your own with electronics then fair game IMO.Bottom line you shouldnt have to sneek around at night to make you a pile because people are to lazy to make there own so calling the man that puts his own stuff out regardless of the time day he chooses is down right ignorant and for someone to say that about someone is more than likely the lazy no good person that would follow and watch someone do that and mark that spot and fish it. Atleast give the guy enough respect and pull up and ask him if he minded if you fished on it that would be a little more grown up than doing it the other way.

if I find brush using my graph, I'll fish it. If a buddy or guide shows me his areas, I will not fish them.
Id rather get my butt handed to me on tournament day than to win on someone elses water.

I still don't see how marking someone putting structure in public water which then becomes public structure is lazy.
To those who still insist on hiding behind your keyboard and casting judgement on individuals whom you do not know about laziness, disrespect, an lacking character, I can only hope that I do see you putting brushpile in a PUBLIC lake and am able to record your boat numbers and location and immediately report them to the GW, corps of engineers or other controlling authority so that they can mark them on their maps becoming public knowledge and subsequently prosecute you for not informing them of your intent when putting hazards into public boating areas. I do not know the letter of the law, but I think most will get the point.

Use fisherman's etiquette, buy a cheap map and study it. Then put some work in and plant your own BP's in areas you identified as fish highways. If life gets in the way and you cant fish every few days and you want to make the most of the few times you get to fish then use the mornings to hit some proven areas then fish new spots later in the afternoon, eventually you will have many favorite spots and wont have to scalp other fisherman's hard work. That being said, if you stumble on a BP then fish it. Just use professionalism.

This is funny. Right now I've got 4 habs I want to put out here at my local lake. I'm waiting for some evening after 11 to do it. No sense doing it during the day. If I did put em out during the day and some sap pulls up an marks em or fishes em before the bubbles even settled, well, then I guess I helped create my own dissatisfaction. Even though the other guy may be unethical I can only manage myself.

The reality[life in the real world for all the idealist]is that if you drop a pile in the middle of the day and somebody sees you and comes over to mark it on his GPS the you are just stupid to think that this wasn't going to happen. In fact you should expect it to happen.Or you could wave your arms and yell curse words and look like an idiot when it does happen.I took a barge of brush out to sink one afternoon about 5. I was watched and followed as I drove amelessly around the lake waiting for dark.I would like to have just dumped it and gone home. But I wasn't stupid enough or lazy enough to just go ahead and dump it on my spot with two boats watching so I could get home early!! DUH

This is really an interesting thread. I'm kind of surprised how intense some of us get. We all just have to do what we feel is the right thing under any given circumstances. Personally, I would not follow someone else. However, these brush piles are not private or exclusive in any way. It seems to me if someone marks a bush pile you sink, then that's how it goes. It's not the end of the world.
What are you going to do if you show up to a habitat you dropped and someone else is already on it? You kind of have to let them fish it.
Geez guys...let it go!
The world is changed by your example, not by your opinion.
