Sounds like you're going to be there same time I am. Why don't we communicate and help each other out while we're on the water? If you write to me, I'll give you my cell phone. chinojosa@ausinfo.com

I plan on being at Port A starting late Friday the 27th for a few days and I don't plan to pull my boat this time, mostly because of the number of necessary Christmas visits along the way.

If either of you don't have a boat load, and want some company, I'll be glad to share the expense.

I definitely won't have any company the first 3 days. Email me and let's talk.

That's one reason I wanted to be able to communicate with you to compare notes, once we're out on the water. I don't know if I'll get much fishing done the 26th, because I need to add a second battery and switch to the boat when I'm there. I'm traveling from Austin. I'm going to try fishing the end of the Port Aransas jetties if it's not too rough. In any case, I'll fish from there to the Copano bridge. Where do you live and did you get my email address?

If I may add a few suggestions? try the west shoreline of Copano Bay w/live bait, also St.Charles bay way in the back. Try to find mud bottoms not sand. If you can find oyster reefs on a mud bottom that would be a good place to start. I know CarlosH asked on another post about the slow tides, in my experience tides movement is not a big deal in the winter unless it has been a very warm fall and winter. But in looking for tidal movements, try where CC bayou empties into Aransas Bay. Also Big Slough just north of the lighthouse, it drains a good area of marsh and if the tide falls during the day the water will be a little warmer and that might attract fish a little more. If you are planning on fishing up by the Chain of Islands I would again look for mud w/oyster reefs. I would also start the morning deep and work shallower as the sun comes up. I would never pass up San Jose shoreline with a S or SE wind. Try the area about halfway between Mud Island and Longs reef. A couple of good lakes that will drain on a outdoing tide. One more suggestion if you want it, if using soft plastics , try pumpkinseed/chartreuse(sp). I personally would use Norton sand eels or Texas trout/ red killers. Hope this helps.

Excellent suggestions! Thank you very much. I'm going to see if I can locate them on my Hot Spot map.
