While fishing Tawakoni yesterday, we were curse to the highiest of curstivity. A kid fish event going on the south end. We trolled to a empty bank across from he event and hear the following: Go somewhere else "you F*#%$^ disrespectful bass fisherman, you sorry SOB's you see we having a event for the kids. We don't like you around these parts anywho" Sad part is there were kids all around to hear that mess, the funny part is there was another boat crappie fishing between us and the cursing guy. All while we had our backs to him. Briefly turning & scanning the banks we saw we were out numbered, therefore we chosed to keep quiet and avoid conflict. We ensured we stayed clear of them and any lines in the water. "We don't like you around these parts anywho" is the statement that bothered me. Never had this problem before or felt nervous about fishing. Hopefully it was because I was bass fishing and not other reason..

man dont sweat it, theres lots of folks in that area that are miserable and live thier lives that way. just take the high road and know GOD will judge them one day. I would have just laughed and kept on fishing, and if they persisted then the game warden would have been called.
as per that part about not liking you ... that sort of ignorance is what keeps them living at the bottom of life. it seems thier event was not at all for the kids, but rather another underlying reason. who knows. but they just taught those kids a very bad lesson with thier actions and words.

I have ran into inbreds like that before. I cant say what lake it was at or I'll start a war. Lets just say we were sitting having a few drinks at the bar after we ate and had to listen to the locals make azz's of themselves and talk trash about us being there. It's amazing what bass fishing brings to some of these towns but the gene pool is so screwed up they cant understand that. Oh I almost forgot,there were some guys at the bar from Ohio who didn't appreciate them too much and it almost turned into a fight. This place is on the west side of the lake. It is a hotel,marina,restaurant and bar.

We saw an amazing display of parenting at 6:15AM yesterday at the 276 bridge. A guy and his wife/girlfriend show up with their I would guess 11-12 year old son. They were going to shore fish from the bridge. The couple commences to screaming at each other and every other word was the F-bomb. The kid is just staring at them. They pick up and leave never putting a line in the water. Consider the source Paul and don't sweat it. You did the right thing.
