Im headed to falcon lake june 3 for 5 days and was wandering if someone could give up a couple of patterns. Im ten hrs. out and with gas prices and other expenses I dont have the money for a guide. Just wanted a couple of areas to concentrate on. We will be staying at the state park. Thanks for any info. IS there a part of the lake that has more rock points?

Put in at state park and run straight over to the mexican side. Find deep water structure and start fishing

Yep. Go to lake falcon tackle. We killed them on watermelon gold flake brush hoggs, Tx rigged with a heavy weight and Big Flukes..watermelon red. Flukes early the Hoggs when the sun got up. Fished points with deep water near by. Little brush on them helped. Without a doubt the biggest key was work the bait SLOW. Literally letting it sit on the bottom got more bites than anything.

From the state park go north and fIsh the Tigers. You can fish there the entire 5 days and not fish all of it. Lots of structure in there. As mentioned, stop by Falcon Lake Tackle. Those guys will point you in the right direction!

When you go out of the State Park turn left and run to the dam. The cover to your left right before you get to the dam you will see a boat dock. Stay out in about 12ft of water and throw at the trees awesome spot work the whole shore line then turn around do it again. Then you can run north IF WIND IS NOT BLOWING you will see a rock pile sticking out into the water about two miles up get on that point and start useing cranks catch alot off that point. Last when you think you are done flip the trees at the boat ramp with a sweet beaver also the cove to the right good luck.

Buy all the magnum watermelon red flukes you can afford to buy and 20--25 pound flouro line or braid. texas rigged or carolina fished very slow. bring a good camera and scale ! where you catch one keep casting there probably allot of fish around that same size in there .pm me if you need a couple gps locations in tigers

Work points from as close as you can get to the shore out to about 35 feet. When we say rocky what is meant is a hard bottom, not necesarily rock piles although that would be nice also. On your electronics it will show up usually as a double bottom. As you back off of a point note the depth and characteristics of where you got bit. That scenario may work elsewhere. An example would be 24 feet with a gradual drop and bushes.

Also, make sure you work off to the sides of points, not just the tip. If there is a steeper side with deeper water access it will most likely hold better fish.

I've been doing best lately mid lake from around Tiger down to about Blanco.

Sometimes the best points aren't the ones you can see from the surface. pay attention to your Navionics.

Good luck!
