Sorry, no pic, but caught a bluegill last Sunday on a crickhopper, had a couple spit the hook, and others make a charge. Fun times!

The Rebel Crickhopper is one of the all time great bream lures IMHO! They find fish and catch fish with a variety of retrieves. When I'm fishing for bream in the summer (and I usually am), I normally start out each trip casting a Rebel Crickhopper or Rapala Floating Minnow. My catch rate may not be high, but they get bites. Once they bite, I know where they are. Once I know where they are, I can switch to a presentation with a better hook-up rate. But, sometimes I stay with the topwater/crankbait because it's so fun catching them on it. Great job on you first fish caught on a lure! cheers May there be many more!

congrats!
it feels alot more rewarding than just using live bait, i think.
that and it justifies all the money you spend on lures.
what kind of retrieve gave u the best response? ive got the same lure but i have yet to catch anything with it.

@ Otis -- dumb luck -- I threw it out, and waited a bit, then reeled in to cast in another place, that's when I got hit, reeling and not looking.

I think it was a pretty "on" day -- I got lots of attention, though I think the 'gills in this pond were too small, hence the misses, or just not setting correctly maybe.
