I spend a lot of time crankin rocks roadways and dams. I want to add football jigs to my technique on these same rocks.
What are your favorite football jigs:
Brands? Colors? Trailers and trailer colors?
Thanks in advance.

for the most part i like black angel and talons. i do like the rockcrawlers too, i just have a harder time finding the one i like. JR, maybe you could help me out on that one.....
just fish colors you have confidence in with matching trailers, chigger and paca craws are tough to beat. switch colors til you find something they like.

I throw a FB jig ALOT!!! All I use is the black angel FB jig. I use 3/4 & 1oz only. Peas & carrots and Cadillac craw are two of the best colors there are. Pimp juice is also great. The black Angel is great because of a few things. First is the hook, it has a 5/0 Hvy wire hook that will not bend at all and allows you to winch those big girls up before they get wrapped. Next the paint on the head won't chip, big deal with a football jig and it's hand tied, never going to loose or pull down the skirt. For a trailer I use the Hyper Freak and cut a split down the tail...for whatever reason this gets the big girls!!!

Real Deal Custom Tackle is a good start, he can do whatever you want.
Some folks want a lighter wire hook with footballs if they have alot of line out and fishing deep.
Id say with clearer water stick with your naturals (wat, green pump, pbj, and if you are fishing real deep or muddy water, something a bit darker, black and blue, bruiser, etc...)

I usually agree with the matching trailer part, but I've had a few times that I was confident I was on fish but couldn't get bit. I'd switch to a contrasting trailer like something in solid red or black and had the fish turn on to it. Just something to keep in mind...

Academy's H20 makes a good football head jig too, I add a zoom trailer. I have used a football head in 4-6 feet of water with some success as well as fishing them deep.
