Thinking about one of these. They are pretty pricy, but I have been on a boat with one and it's pretty cool how it GPS's a spot and holds it. It was moderately windy that day and it did a amazing job. Appreciate any comments about them and whether they do as advertised. Are they worth the extra over a regular unit?? Thanks.

Pretty much works as advertised for me. It's not perfect and you have to learn how to use it of course. Electric control takes some getting used to.
I love it just for the fact I can hit the anchor, sit down and retie, weigh a fish, look at my gps, call my wife, whatever and not get blown across the lake or into the shore.
