+1 on marine tex ( aka marine putty)....found some gel coat scrapes while waxing the underside of boat, went and talked with guys at north Texas marine about price and timeframe of repair. Stated they used product when money was an issue with customer. $20 and about two hours later I repaired myself. Been about a month since done......no problems noted.

ewww, been there done that.. Its not a cheap fix 900-1300 but it is easily fixed and just glad you didnt loose a gearcase, motor or sink tha sucker.. Turnaround is probably 3-4 weeks? It all depends on who dose it and how booked up they are. Good luck with your repairs and hope your not down to long!

That's not a tough fix for a pro, but it is a long way from using Marine-Tex in your driveway. You do not want any water intrusion into the hull. Take it to a pro.

+1000 on Classic Fiberglass.

Hopefully you have Insurance. If so, then it will only cost you your deductible.

I've used Marine Tex on a few things in the past and it works great for small nicks, etc. but it looks like part of that gash was pushed back together for the second pic (first pic looks like that hole has a lot more space in it). That is definitely above a marine tex application and you would be wasting your time going that route IMHO. Take that to a pro and get it fixed the proper way. Hate to see anyone get damage to their boat, I've been there and done that frown

Nah, just a good wax on it and maybe no one will even notice smile.

Just joking, I suggest to take it to a fiberglass repair shop vs trying to do it yourself. Then can evaluate the entire boat. Then decide if you want your insurance invoiced.

Can you post a pic??

I would like to know if they only repair the one small area or if they feather it way out like painting a car.

Thanks
