After several outings this year I finally got into some fish that I've been reading about on this forum. 1rst stop was in the middle of the lake just out from the 121 cut. BIG hybrids were being caught by a guide boat using live bait. My slabs were no match for them. Moved on to Deadmans and joined a smll boat show.Fish were active and cooperative. 24 feet, slab, cast and bounce back to boat.Many good sized sandbass but, superprizingly, many more Hybrids. 1rst one was 24" around 10 lbs, 2nd was 4.6lbs, 3rd broke my line, 4th defeated me at the boat after a ten minute battle. I fish with 8lb test line (add's to the challenge). This last fish pulled more drag that the first! I thought I had won right up to the point when my son went to net the Monster and it left for better things to do. . Great trip started at 5:00 PM and ended at 7:30.Wind was not too much a factor. Stayed anchored in one spot the whole time.

Good to hear! Went out last Thursday on LL and witnessed a guy and his buddy catch their limit in hybrids using live large shad. I had the same problem with the slab, lots of sandies, no hybrid. Waiting for some flies by night and some slabs. Hope they will help me boat some wipers.

Fisherman Dan, I believe I saw you out there fishing last night, And I believe I heard you loud and clear when the last one got off. Good job on bringing in the hybrids, we only caught 1 hybrid 17.5in but left with a good amount of sandies. I was in the blue and white sprint.

Not saying anything bad, sure made me watch you catch the hybrids, I love to hear people having a good time like that. I know I have done it.

Oh, not sure who the 2 guys were in the white center console boat but one of them ended up catching a barbie pole
