I've seen the results but haven't heard too many people talking about what they caught fish on. Did any of the overs come from shallow water? Despite the wind, it looks like people had a pretty good catch. For those on here who fished it, what did you do to catch fish?? (or not catch fish if it was a tough bite)

Buzz baits the first day caught the majority of the overs early. We had a good yellow magic bite, sq-bill, later in the day out deep 16-24 foot soft plastics on ridges and humps with timber. We had good numbers of 2-lb fish, ck'd once on Friday but shoulda made the weigh-in more with weights so low.. Didn't want to make the run unless we had a 2.4-2.5 lb fish with conditions as they were..

Thanks guys. I haven't been on the lake in about a year and was planning on going out this weekend. I didn't know if the lack of grass and low lake level would pull the fish out of the shallows and out into the deeper timber but if they're biting buzzbaits and YellowMagics then the shallow fish must still be there. That makes it fun for those of us who only get out there 1-2 times a year.(at least for the first couple of hours!)

I talked to all boat winners, Sunday at the weigh-in.
1. 10" power worm 2. Jig 3. KVD 2.5
I fished all 3 days, in that 3 day span, son and i caught 9 fish over 7 pounds. Hooked and lost a 10+ fish on a jig, broke my #20 invisx, she came to the top them went down, could not turn her -snap.
Friday- 7 fish Sat-5-fish Sunday 14 fish
Last fish of the day Sunday 6 pound fish on a drop shot #8 line fun.

Thanks again guys for all the details. Sounds like JBass had a very nice trip. I will take either one of your 3 days as long as it's Sunday!

I wouldn't believe what people said they caught their fish on unless they are hooked up to the poly. Just sayin. I know a lot of guys that don't like to give up what they actually caught the fish on. That being said, I fished Friday and Sunday and caught some nice fish on some of the above mentioned. Shallow early then work your way deep during the day and you'll be fine.

coors light can and a budlight can worked good for me!!!!! No Dax, he said he wanted to know what people caught fish on. Not info from the the Legend Team guys that sat over by their rooms stroking their boats all day with sham-wow clothes!

All I can say is that when the majority of anglers that came to the scales are saying the same baits over the period of the tournament I would tend to believe that it was true. Basically what was listed above was the bite except to add the shaky head which was what my bite was on. All of mine just happened to be slot fish. Another great tournament though can't wait for next year.
