The crispy tail is definitely the best part! Yep! The first time my Dad tried to get me to try it I was pretty skeptical. Now I'm a fan.
Everyone has to believe in something - I believe I'll go fishing!

10" is what I've always considered a BIG bluegill.

I got kind of spoiled as a kid in FL...my grandmother would feed the bluegills at their dock bread all year, and then my brother and I would come visit in the summer and catch a load of 13" bluegill. It was insane.
As for "wild" bluegill, I'd say anything over 9" is pretty good / big.

... Jagg you're the first person I have seen talk about keeping the small ones and throwing back the bigger ones - Make it two...I'm with Jagg...I never, ever intentionally kill a large 'gill but if I'm hungry for fish, those 6 inch 'gills are very tasty. Anything over 10 inches goes back unless it has been guthooked. And I try to throw back the largest ones depending on the body of water. I usually will keep them in the 7-9 inch range. I try have a good amount of catfish on hand to eat but once and again I like my sunnies(and . Those are nice fish Mike. I saw your photo on the TPWD website too. Nice! Thanks Mike. I am becoming a regular celebrity, lol. I also got this from the San Antonio Express News. We don't get the daily edition, so I didn't even know it was in there until our mailman told me about it(of all people). I didn't post it in the bass section cuz I know all those guys and gals will get soooo jealous
